 Openreach have announced the Digital switch off set for 2025. What does this mean?

Most businesses use a telephone line or lines to make and receive telephone calls. This currently runs over a digital network. The telephone lines businesses use are called ISDN2e or ISDN30e. In 2025 the digital network is going to be turned off meaning that every business must switch their telephone number/lines to run on a VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) network. If you do not switch to VoIP this could mean your telephone number will stop working when the switch off happens.

Businesses that currently use ISDN2e to ISDN30e will no longer be able to add to their business lines from 2023 nor have ISDN installed new from 2023 thus allowing the switch off to happen in 2025.
